Our high-quality banners are custom-printed on durable, heavy-weight 22-oz block-out vinyl or Sunbrella® Marine Acrylic featuring the honoree’s photo, name, rank, and branch of service. These banners secure to your city’s light poles using only the best hardware. At Creative Displays, we offer high-quality aluminum brackets in two sizes: Deluxe (for large wooden poles) and Juniors (for decorative black poles) to mount your banners on most poles. The banners can be printed in sizes: 18″ x 36″, 24″ x 48″, or 30″ x 60″.

These street banners are typically displayed seasonally, often from Memorial Day through Veterans Day, or rotated on a multi-year schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Hometown Heroes Banner Program?

The Hometown Heroes Banner Program is a community-led initiative run by local municipalities, VFW posts, and veterans’ organizations to honor US military service members, veterans, and first responders by having custom banners designed and installed to recognize their service.

What Sizes do the Hometown Heroes Banners Come In?

We can print your banners in sizes 18″ x 36″, 24″ x 48″, or 30″ x 60″.

How Long are the Banners Displayed for?

Typically, the banners are displayed seasonally, from Memorial Day through Veterans Day. However, some municipalities rotate their banners on a multi-year schedule.

How do Municipalities Secure Funding for Hometown Heroes Banners?

Families or private sponsors generally pay a participation fee, which covers printing, hardware, and installation by local public works departments. Some municipalities partner with corporate sponsors to cover the cost.

How Do I Design Our Hometown Heroes Banner?

Designing your banner is easy: simply scan all the pictures you collect (150dpi @ full size) and organize the information for each veteran in a spreadsheet, so there are no mistakes in names, ranks, branch of service, etc., then send all of that information to your sales representative. We will provide you with a proof of each banner so every participant can see their banner before it’s printed and confirm it’s to their liking.

You choose the information that is displayed for each Veteran. Remember that “Less is More,” and it’s typically best to stick with Name, Rank, Branch of Service, and Era of Service.

How Long Does it Take for My Order to be Completed?

It takes up to 2 weeks to send you all the proofs once our team receives all of the information. On average, it takes between 15-20 business days once the final art has been approved.

What Happens to the Banners When They’re Taken Down?

After the display term ends, banners are often taken down and given directly to the family or sponsor as a keepsake.
